This painting is from an early spring trip to the northeast kingdom of Vermont with bird diva Bridget Butler. We saw so many wonderful birds that morning, including a rare glimpse of a black-backed woodpecker. This palm warbler perched for me while we stood on an observation platform overlooking a remote pond. Bridget is a skilled guide with a wealth of knowledge and insight to share. If you haven’t had a chance to be in the woods with her, you really should look into it.
Palm warbler in the kingdom is a 10x10 inch acrylic on wood panel. It is currently on display at Valley Artisans Market Gallery in Cambridge NY. If it isn't purchased, t will be back up for sale here after October 21st, when the show is over.
