A very local landscape.
This late afternoon landscape represents one of my favorite stretches of the D&H Rail Trail. It’s very close to home, on a path I walk a few times every week in the Indian River valley.
The diversity of life—from birdlife to the occasional otter, bobcat, mink, beaver, muskrat, and white-tailed deer—is amazing. If you do e-bird you can see my many years of recording bird sightings here.
On any summer day, it’s likely that storm clouds will bloom over the mountains to the east. On this particular afternoon, they took fantastic dragon shapes in the golden light of the late afternoon.
West Pawlet Skyscape is an 18x24 inch acrylic on wood panel and it is now for sale on my homepage. Check it out here. If you’d like to see it in person, send me a note and we can arrange a studio visit.
